The AEPR Conference on “Deglobalization” was held online on April 14, inviting experts from Japan and abroad. Globalization has been progressing, with the integration and development of markets, production, and other economic activities around the world, transcending national and regional boundaries. However, due to the U.S.-China conflict and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, there have been different moves from globalization. At the conference, there was a lively exchange of views on power shift in the global financial system, latest trends of trade in intermediate services, the effects of the WTO on deglobalization and recent changes in supply chains in Asia. The papers submitted to the conference will be revised and edited based on the content of the conference and published in January 2024.
